On the surface, at first glance, it might seem as if a small dosage of poison isn’t capable of harming your brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, and immune system, until that is, it seeps through down your throat and begins the process in small ways. What we basically do when indulgence is had for any particular sinful desire of ours, is carelessly inject poison into the spiritual man which produces a snowball effect of problems and internally numbs us to the outward decay.
It must be first understood that the poison which is injected into our body has a freakish outcome, which first started on the inside and protruded outside eventually. Until then, the problem cannot be accurately dealt with. And you see, pornography is no different in how it operates. Conceived inwardly, birthed outwardly. The poison starts inwardly, then ends outwardly. This then overall hardens us by the deceitfulness of sin, because our conscience is being seared of the polar opposites in good and evil. Henceforth why a complete transformation of our minds is necessary before handling the situation at hand.
A deeply rooted hatred of sin is vitally important in order to overthrow fleshly passions. This all begins with our mind. Unless the initial source of your problem is solved, countless errors will begin to arise if left unsettled. Quite similar to a mathematical equation, if you input incorrect data on the first step, then your answer is inevitably going to come out wrong. Our first step in victory over addiction is training the mind to not comply with sinister temptations. Mastering the art of resilience is difficult, but something that we can all achieve.
Mark 9:23 (King James Version)
“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”
Satan pounces on the opportunity to confine you in a box, where eventually down the line a reprobate mind is formed and hatched. That’s the worse case scenario. But Jesus died for you. Yes, you! You have significant meaning and purpose, that is only yet to be discovered if diligently sought after. All of this can be found in Jesus. I know, you’re heavily discouraged after the recent failures with pornography that could’ve easily been avoided. You’re not the only one, I imagine. I’ve been in that very same position more times than can be numbered. Although, take a moment and reflect on God’s renewing mercies. For they are brand new every single day. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
Romans 8:6 (King James Version)
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”
